therapy can help you regain balance and confidence.

common symptoms of depression

"Sarah*" used to feel confident, but after a difficult year, she found herself feeling tired and unmotivated — something had changed. She experienced a mixture of emotions: sometimes sadness, other times frustration, and often fear and guilt. Repetitive thoughts made it hard to enjoy the things she once loved. Her hobbies, time with friends and her partner, and even her job no longer brought the same sense of joy, of achievement, she had lost interest.

Some days, Sarah was too tired to get off the couch, while other nights, she couldn't sleep at all. Simple decisions, like what to wear or eat, felt overwhelming, she struggled to focus on simple things. She blamed herself for feeling this way, worthless, for letting everyone down. She felt alone, unheard and as she had lost her confidence. As the weeks went by, she withdrew from her social life, avoiding calls and texts from people who cared about her.

That's when Sarah knew she couldn't keep going like this and decided to reach out for help.

If Sarah's story feels familiar, you don't have to go through it alone.                                           and start your journey toward feeling better today.

how therapy can help

Therapy provides a safe space to explore your emotions and identify what maintains low mood and lack of confidence but also the root causes of them.

Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we'll explore your thinking patterns and develop strategies to improve your mood and outlook.

The path to recovery sessions

FAQ Section

Is feeling down for a long period normal?

Yes, many people experience persistent low mood at some point in their lives. If it starts to affect your daily life, therapy can be a helpful tool for managing these feelings.

What causes depression?

Depression is caused by a complex interaction of biological (e.g. brain chemicals imbalance, genetic predisposition), psychological (e.g. negative thinking) and environmental factors (e.g. major life changes, chronic stressors).

Risk factors indicate the likelihood to experience depression, maintenance factors indicate why depression is still present.

Can therapy help changing?

Yes, therapy can be very effective. Talking therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as a primary treatment for moderate to severe depression in adults.

Research shows that CBT not only helps manage symptoms but can also alter brain activity in areas affected by depression.

In some cases, a combination of therapy and medication is the most effective approach.

What if I'm not sure if I need therapy?

That's completely okay! In our first session, we'll discuss your situation and see if therapy feels like the right step for you.

I did therapy but I relapsed, is it worth doing therapy again?

Relapses can happen and are a normal part of the recovery journey, but they don't mean you've failed. When we meet, we'll review your progress, revisit your relapse management plan, and explore whether a different therapy approach might suit you better.

Other factors, like underlying conditions or stressors, may also be influencing your recovery, and we will address them together. Therapy can still be highly beneficial for getting back on track.

Still have questions?

I was overwhelmed before starting therapy, but within few sessions I started seeing things more clearly.
